how many Indians support Nuclear liability bill in its present form?

rules:- i will provide the point in this debate on the disadvantage of nuclear debit.the person that will give best argument irrespective of stand he takes, will chosen by me BA and earn 10 points.

our Indian leaders are often accused of selling our country interest to other countries interest. Be it Afghanistan or Pakistan it is our government that has always been made to suffer.but i am not going in that direction.

my direction is future with reference to past. many people hailed a Nuclear deal when it was passed in parliament. well i was one of them. but this deal is now showing its true color. A inhuman act will probably being made to be passed in near parliament session.we have now example of our honest leader called Manmohan singh selling Indian public lives. do you know what is price of Indian public just Rs.500 crore. and do you know the difference of American life and indian life it is of Rs.44500 crore.i.e if in America a nuclear accident occurs then liability of that company to give American government will be 45000 crore and when similar accident occurs in India the current liability is Rs.500 crore.yes it has provision to increment it up to Rs.2400 crore. but still the difference is of Rs.42000 crore. remaining will be payed by Indian Govenrment.thus its our tax that will be used on us if their occurs nuclear accident.whereas the guilty company would able to get let off.

so my question is to supporter of bill is:-

My purpose is to tell government the following things!
let Government know that we wont allow another Bhopal to occur again.
let the government know that if somehow a Bhopal occurs we wont allow victims suffer from government or judicial same as suffered by Bhopal gas victim.
let the government be known which ever country interest get clashed with our indian public but it will satisfy interest of indian public first.
let the government be made to know that justice will be served to people that suffers due to govenrment or cooperate mishaps?

my conclusion is pass nuclear bill but with very large changes than what it is in current form. in current form it is anti Indian so make it more Indian. let Indian government show some teeth to US government. let their government be known that Indian government works for Indians and not for American company!

my intention behind this question is to check congress supporter that are they human or their party support has made them blind to humanity. i know there would be many supporter of this deal since this deal is very important for passage of nuclear deal in India. but i want to know who are this people for whom American interest are more important than Indian interest. and i also want to prove that Congress government works under the pressure of US in foreign policy.so let us see who is trying to prove all point wrong.

Shy you know that the insistence of then Govt that Bhopal UC Co should register as a Co in India to have a proper hold, actually helped the agreement to be still skewed in favour of the Co? Yes, the project, process, standards etc were worked de novo ''for Indian situations'' that is (for example) the safety systems were fixed at sub optimal (cheap) levels under the pretext that the spare parts would not be available for the high end technology in India!! And they had the audacity (with lax govt regulatory bodies playing mute spectator roles) to dilute the high priority safety investments called for a high risk industry, in the name of economy!!!!

And late PM Rajiv was also accused of going for a petty compensation in a out of the court agreement. So it is not just Dr Singh at fault, who may be just best playing to the whims of the party chief!!

You would remember that the US rejected Visa to Modi to visit their country (at someone's invitation to address investors there) on pretext of the post Godhra incident in his tenure, that was much hyped against BJP in the media. OK, now my Q is, how come that champion of human rights and liberty in US who felt so sensitive about the Post godhra victims, did not feel the least for the Bhopal victims and subject Mr Anderson to face law for his criminal negligence? Why did they allow him to stay away in his home when the Indian govt extradition proposal was in force??!!

The bill in Q is nothing new in its agreeing for much lesser compensation for probable loss of Indian lives due to obvious risks of nuclear installations, because the partisan form of treating Asian lives as less worthy than the western fraternity is still there - like the last of Romans, the last of human inequality to survive, even after the dubious racial and slavery crimes are legally put down!!

Shy, I do doubt if not just the common but normally well informed people also know of all the implications of many laws being passed in the parliament. As Raj put it as painful note, the MPs by and large may also not care to think deeply and sincerely, but would be too ready to vote any damn bill, for some ''consideration''! We have come a long way from principled public life...

Still you would shorty hear the familiar voices of eloquent support of the Bill from our congress zealots, in this post also. People who claim to be sole inheritors of the Gandhi label would be least inclined to stand by the Truth and Probity that the grand old man stood for, all his life!

Veers I much appreciate your citing a few more cases of govt bungling with people's money. But be careful about the Communists who would not say a word about the muslim extremism, chinese expansionism, or the way their labour unions destroyed the hens laying golden eggs in the past. Mamata paid them in their own coins by driving the Tatas away with which the revenue, jobs for 1000s etc were also lost for the state.

You can not eat Calotropis (Erukku) saying it contains x or y vitamin!! It has more deadly toxins as well (good for severe skin infections - even leprosy). So for fighting insolent might, their methods are good but they are selective in their fighting the evils and one should be careful about them.

The Maoists and Naxals are also their brain children only!!

Tom Hanks has confused himself. The Q was not about the Nuclear Agreement but about the ''liability'' in case of accidents, for which a Bill is being moved in Parliament seeking approval for a low compensation, which is under wide criticism.

There are many points in the Nucelar deal itself that lend to compromises of Indian interests, albeit many experts being positive about major issues (not all aspects..) in the deal. There are clever spokes about which I shall refrain from comments here, as the focus of this Q is different.
